October 15, 2026
The final Cars & Coffee of 2026 runs in Liberty Center's Taylor Parking Garage on Saturday, October 17, from 8 a.m. to noon. That closes a series that has met on the third Saturday of every month since May. The holiday parade and tree lighting come five weeks later. Most of the weeks in between are taken by Halloween events in The Square, a coat drive and a pumpkin composting day. This year there is also something on Bales Street that runs after the outdoor season ends.
That something is a pair of auditoriums that opened in early September. They change how the colder months work at Liberty Center. Until now the fall schedule meant a handful of good Saturdays and then a wait for the lights to go up. Now there is a year-round reason to be there, and in Ohio you can only get it here.
B&B Theatres opened Ohio's first 4DX auditorium at its Liberty Center location on Friday, September 4, the West Chester-Liberty Herald reported, citing WLWT. The room has 98 seats. They move in time with the film and add wind, vibration, lightning, scent and water. The theater raised its ceiling to fit the larger screen.
The ScreenX auditorium that opened alongside it is the larger room by seat count:
All three formats are on the B&B Theatres Liberty Township 15 page, where tickets are sold.
The setup happened quickly. B&B is a family-owned chain dating to 1924, with about 517 screens at 54 locations, and it ranks as the fifth-largest theater chain in the country. It took over the former CMX cinema on January 15 after signing a lease in late 2025. Less than eight months later, the building held formats no other Ohio theater offers.
Liberty Center's own leadership has said what the investment is for. In August, FOX19 quoted Senior General Manager John Taylor:
"These investments allow us to continue elevating what Liberty Center offers while creating new reasons for people to visit, spend time here and engage with the property throughout the year."
"Throughout the year" is the part that shows up on the fall calendar. The outdoor and community events from now to Thanksgiving fall almost entirely on Saturdays. The theater fills the rest of the week.
Every date below comes from Liberty Center's events listings or the Liberty Township calendar. Counting from this weekend, nearly every Saturday through November 21 has something on it.
Two events run through the weekdays around those Saturdays.
From October 1 through November 30, Liberty Center is collecting coats for LIFE Food Pantry. Thursday, October 22, is National Share The Warmth Day, the drive's featured date. The drive covers both ends of the season, so donations can go along with any of the Saturday visits above.
Fitton @ The Foundry is offering a Beginning Broom Making session that runs from October 27 to November 17. It is one of the few things on the fall listing that meets over several weeks, so it suits people who want a recurring weeknight plan.
Only one Saturday in the stretch has nothing listed, November 14. With no event that weekend, the theater is the main reason to visit.
Liberty Center's restaurant lineup gained a whiskey-focused option this year. Local 12 reported in January that Whiskey Yard, an Epic Brands restaurant, was scheduled to open in early February, with a menu built around global flavors and a whiskey library of more than 200 selections. It now appears in the center's directory at 7524 Bales Street. That puts it a few doors from the theater at 7514 Bales Street.
A second opening is coming across the township in the Freedom Pointe development, the 88.6-acre site on Liberty Way anchored by Costco. The Journal-News reports that Ohio's first Zaxbys will open on a 1.2-acre lot at 7111 Marion Way. The plans call for a 2,900-square-foot restaurant with 56 seats and a drive-thru, and a menu of made-to-order salads, wings, chicken sandwiches, fingers and milkshakes.
The opening date is still soft. The franchisee told the Journal-News he hopes to open the week before Thanksgiving but isn't sure, and the paper's target is the end of November. WLWT said in mid-September that no grand-opening date had been set. Thanksgiving falls on November 26 this year, so the hoped-for week is the one before Lights Up. The restaurant plans to post opening news on the Zaxbys Facebook page.
The theater work is the first finished piece of a larger plan. Centennial, which owns Liberty Center, announced an additional $20 million investment in August for the 64-acre property on the Liberty Township and West Chester Township line. The other announced pieces are:
None of these has a timeline. The Herald's September report says no dates have been announced for the Dick's remodel, the event center, the apartments or the hotel. FOX19 described the hotel and apartments as more likely to happen because of the new money. That is language about plans, not construction. The batting cages, golf simulators and event center would add more indoor options, but for this fall the theater is the only new one that's open.
So for the next seven weeks, the calendar is already set. Monster Mash on October 24, trick-or-treat on the 31st, Pumpkin Smash on November 7 and the Lights Up parade at 5:30 p.m. on November 21 cover the outdoor dates. The 4DX and ScreenX rooms on Bales Street cover the evenings in between.
